Fischer Race Family Wins Four Medals in Åre

With a haul of four WSC medals the Fischer Race Family skiers started home from the Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre, Sweden. Speed ace Vincent Kriechmayr had the heaviest bag, having taken part in two medal ceremonies: for his silver in the Super G and bronze in the Downhill. There were also two medals for the Fischer athletes after the team event: Daniel Yule was a member of the winning Swiss team, while Katharina Truppe won silver with Austria.

Vince Kriechmayr picks up where he left off and wins WSC bronze in Downhill

Two races, two medals – this result is certainly one to be proud of! Three days after WSC silver in Super G and in extremely difficult conditions, speed ace Vincent Kriechmayr skied his way to the bronze medal behind the two Norwegians Kjetil Jansrud and Aksel Lund Svindal in the men's Downhill in Åre on Saturday. Just 0.33 seconds separated Kriechmayr from first place in the end.

Vincent Kriechmayr Wins Silver in WSC Super G

Vincent Kriechmayr proved his class yet again on Wednesday, winning a first silver medal in Åre. The Upper Austrian finished the race a mere 0.09 seconds behind Dominik Paris. Kriechmayr may not have skied faultlessly, but his good technique and good equipment brought him the medal his performance deserved. It is the first medal of his professional career.

Daniel Yule shines in third place in Schladming

Slalom ace Daniel Yule once again displayed his class at the spectacular Night Race in Schladming on Tuesday evening. The 25-year-old Swiss athlete repeated his third place from last year in a phenomenal atmosphere in front of at least 40,000 spectators. Following his victory in Madonna di Campiglio, this was the second World Cup podium placing this season for the current number 1 in the Fischer Slalom Team.
