Mourning for the last great leader of the Austrian ski industry. Honorary Councilor of Commerce Josef Fischer is dead

Josef Fischer, recognized as an Honorary Councilor of Commerce in Austria, and the son of the founder of Fischer Sports, LTD who went on to own the company, passed away on August 26th at the age of 90. Though the book of the venerable Josef Fischer’s life has now closed, his life’s work- the last of the great Austrian ski companies- will remain 100% in his family’s possession.

Three athletes from three nations: the Fischer Race Family is delighted to welcome highly promising new recruits for the coming season. Swiss Luca Aerni, Englishman Dave Ryding and German Marina Wallner are switching to the ski equipment manufactured in Ried im Innkreis and will be racing on Fischer skis from now on.

Interview with new signing Luca Aerni

The Fischer Race Family is delighted to welcome a new member: from next season, Luca Aerni will be racing for Fischer. The 27-year-old Swiss is a specialist in the disciplines Slalom, Giant Slalom and Alpine Combined. “As a motivated sportsman with great potential Luca is a great addition,” says Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter. “We’re convinced that he will build on his previous form and get back among the world’s best. We will give him the best possible support and look forward to working with him.”
