Simon Gietl is a passionate alpinist and a long-time member of the Fischer Family. Whenever he’s not out on an expedition, he can be found in the mountains of his South Tyrolian home.
In this interview Simon tells us, among other things, about his first ski tour; why a trained carpenter would give up woodworking the mountains; and what his preparation for every tour looks like:
The Fischer Race Family gave a good account of themselves this winter with strong performances in the Alpine Ski World Cup, but had to make do without some of their proven winners due to injury. In spite of this, there were still numerous podium positions to celebrate from among the total of 66 men’s and women’s races.
The Freeski Team Days are a special highlight in our calendar every year. On these days, Fischer Team Riders from different countries come together in one place to test the latest Ranger models, make plans for the future and to capture great moments in photos.
