Emil Persson was already on cross-country skis at the age of three. In 2023, he fulfilled the dream of every cross-country skier by winning the Vasaloppet. The Swede starts for the Lager 157 Ski Team and focuses on the Ski Classics races. Off the cross-country track, he can often be found hunting.

When did you start skiing?

I started skiing when I was 3 years old.

When did you decide to go for long-distance skiing in particular?

I shifted my focus to 100-percent long-distance skiing when I was 23 years old.

What was your biggest moment in your skiing career?

My biggest moment on a pair of skis must have been when I won the Vasaloppet in 2023.

I love hunting

I want to do a ski race in North America

and the third thing...will stay a secret.

What is your favorite quote or personal motto?

Rule #5: HTFU (Harden The F*ck Up)

Which ritual do you have before the race? 

I like to be organized before the race. I know what clothes I'm going to wear and the time schedule before I start.

Where would you like to travel to?

Canada or the USA in the winter. I want to see the wilderness.

What is your favorite hobby on a day off?

I like to hunt or drive snowmobiles.

How would your roommate describe you? 

Haha - a simple man.

What does Fischer mean to you?

Fischer means a lot to me. They always deliver good skis. It's a brand/company that I can stand behind.
