Fischer Sports, in partnership with the American Avalanche Institute (AAI), announces a series of livestream events for backcountry awareness hosted by US Alpine Product Manager for Fischer Skis and AMGA-certified guide Mike Hattrup and AAI co-owner and AMGA-certified guide Sarah Carpenter. The livestream events will occur on three consecutive Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m., MST: Nov. 24, Dec. 1, Dec. 8, 2020 right here on Fischersports.com.
Topics will include how to transition from lift-accessed skiing to backcountry skiing as well as content geared toward those who already frequent the backcountry. Hattrup and Carpenter will give recommendations for gear as well as present information about terrain, avalanches and rescue protocol. Each show will be between 30 and 45 minutes, with allotted time for a question-and-answer with Carpenter and Hattrup at the end of each session.
