Yule Claims Podium in the Night Race

In Schladming, Daniel Yule added yet another podium to his already impressive Slalom series. Following his win in Kitzbühel the Swiss Fischer racer clinched third place in the Night Race in front of nearly 50,000 spectators – beaten only by Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR) and Alexis Pinturault (FRA).

For Yule, who started with bib no. 7, it was the third third place in succession on the Planai course. The gate artist was therefore understandably happy at the finish: “For us, this is the most legendary course along with Kitzbühel so I’m really pleased to be on the podium here.” The 26-year-old was also overwhelmed by the setting: “It’s wonderful here. The atmosphere, so many spectators, it’s unbelievable.”

Besides Yule, Fischer youngster Kristoffer Jakobsen also gave a glimpse of his talent. He once again skied into the circle of the world’s best, placing seventh in the floodlit spectacle, picking up from where he temporarily left off after his sixth place in Val D’Isère in December.

Alexander Khoroshilov finished 15th this time out. The Russian Schladming winner of 2015 was in twelfth place after the first run, but in the second he slipped back three places.
