Laura Dahlmeier showed in the mass start one of the best shooting achievements of the entire field. She made her only miss in the first shooting and was able to compensate it relatively quickly, despite the slower first lap. After the third shooting she was some seconds in the lead and saved the slight lead on the final lap to the finish. "For me it's a great success that I can win again and make top results. But I had to work hard for the win, I did not start very well into the race and almost wanted to gave up the race after the first lap, because I felt so bad. But I stayed tuned and was rewarded for it." Although Hanna Öberg (SWE, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) had to go into the penalty loop twice, she was able to get closer and closer to the podium in the final lap, but she could not quite reach it in the final sprint. Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished sixth before Irina Kryuko (BLR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Karolin Horchler (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots), who remained the only biathlete without mistakes.
In the mass start of the men, you had to shoot clean today to win the race - otherwise Johannes Thingnes Bø (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) would have been back on the top spot. The Norwegian compensated nearly two penalties, but wasn't able to catch Quentin Fillon Maillet. So it became the day of the Frenchman, who celebrated his first World Cup victory. Evgeniy Garanichev (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished seventh, ahead of Lars Helge Birkeland (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
