A great second jump on 128.5 meters with constant tailwind made sure that Kamil Stoch could make a big step forward from eighth place after the first round. When only three jumpers on top of the hill, he hoped for a podium and with Stefan Krafts jump to only 122.5 meters, the hope seemed to be fulfilled. The Austrian was surprised himself, as the 1 lit up with 0.3 points ahead. High flyer Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) fell behind after a mistake in the jump, but Dawid Kubacki (POL) pushed ahead of Kraft and Stoch in his first World Cup victory. Markus Eisenbichler (GER, Fischer) also made a mistake in the first round, which threw him back to 17th. In the final he was able to correct his result with 133 meters in sixth place.
