Johannes Thingnes Bø wins last sprint

Johannes Thingnes Bø (NOR, Fischer ***) celebrated his tenth win of the season in the sprint in Kontiolahti (FIN). Before the last individual race with the pursuit, he leads 21 points ahead of Martin Fourcade (FRA) in the overall World Cup.

"I gave everything. I had a really good race. Congratulations to the overall World Cup, Johannes", said Martin Fourcade in a double interview after the race. The Norwegian did not want to accept the congratulations yet, even if he was a class of his own again today. To get into the top5, a clean shooting was required today and thanks to the fastest skitime by far, Bø celebrated a sovereign victory over Fourcade, who is 21 points behind the Norwegian in the overall World Cup. "We respect each other, we're both very good biathletes. He won the Sprint World Cup today, but with the overall World Cup we have to wait and see. I was panting today, maybe I skied into the shooting range too quickly. But two seconds before I did the first shot, I was completely relaxed and that's the way it should be", said Bø. His brother Tarjei Bø (NOR, Fischer ***) was fifth, seventh went to Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA, Fischer ***), who was anything but satisfied with his skiing performance today.
