Jarl Magnus Riiber wins the final thanks to PCR

Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) succeeded again at the very last competition of the season in Schonach (GER). Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished third.

Thanks to the irregular provisional competititon round, Jarl Magnus Riiber had no significant competitioner in his twelfth win of the season, which earned him a place in the history books. Many of the favorites started after a "not quite fair" PCR with several minutes behind, because the stormy gusts had seriously distorted the result. Today, two jumps and 15 kilometers of cross-country skiing were originally planned, which was not possible due to the weather conditions. "We've already seen this morning that it's more changeable and gusts stronger, so we canceled the trial round. We're in contact with the meteorological services, it's too strong for the moment, but when things get better we can start. It should be better between noon and 1 p.m., but we hope that it can start a bit earlier", said Race Director Lasse Ottesen at 11 a.m. Instead of waiting longer, then the jumping was canceled a few minutes later. "We spoke to the meteorologists and unfortunately it has not changed, so we have to cancel for safety reasons and unfortunately we can only race 10km with the PCR today." Jarl Magnus Riiber started more than 30 seconds ahead of the next good skiers Jan Schmid (NOR) and Bernhard Gruber as second-placed after the provisional competition round and also brought this advantage safely to the finish. The Austrian finished third. Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished fifth ahead of Ilkka Herola (FIN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
