Jarl Magnus Riiber unbeatable in Seefeld

After his second victory in Seefeld (AUT), Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR, Fischer ***) is still clearly in the lead in the Seefeld Triple. Second place went to Jørgen Graabak (NOR, Fischer ***) ahead of Vinzenz Geiger (GER, Fischer ***).

After jumping in difficult conditions, it initially looked as if both Riiber brothers would start into cross-country skiing side by side again - Jarl 56 seconds ahead of Harald, who is two years older. But Harald Johnas Riiber (NOR, Fischer ***) was subsequently disqualified because of a non-compliant suit, so that Jarl Magnus Riiber started cross-country skiing one minute before Jens Lurås Oftebro (NOR, Fischer ***) and again a lonely race for him was in sight - because of his lead from the first day of the Seefeld Triple, he still had no fear about his opponents today.

Vinzenz Geiger, who, like almost all of his teammates, is struggling with a cold and spared energies as much as possible yesterday, was very angry after jumping with the jury, who had sent him down in extremely bad conditions. With his strong tailwind, no more was not possible than sixth place before the race, but he was part of the five-man chasing group that formed behind second-placed Jens Lurås Oftebro. The 19-year-old Norwegian fought bravely, but from halfway through the race, the gap against the chasing group melted down, in which Geiger and Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer ***) alternately did all the work. When Oftebro was caught up on the penultimate climb, Vinzenz Geiger attacked and only Jørgen Graabak could follow him. As usual, the Norwegian was only in the slipstream during the whole race and this time on the way to the finish he proved to be stronger than the under the weather German. On the last climb, Eric Frenzel escaped from the group and took fourth place ahead of Espen Bjørnstad (NOR, Fischer ***), Jens Lurås Oftebro and Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer ***). Ilkka Herola (FIN, Fischer ***) improved to eighth place, Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer ***) finished tenth.
