Jarl Magnus Riiber again successful in Trondheim

Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) celebrated the second victory within two days in Trondheim (NOR). Vinzenz Geiger (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished second ahead of Jørgen Graabak (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).

Also on Sunday the wind did not feel good with the athletes in Trondheim. Although the jump did not take two hours this time, the conditions were very difficult and changed constantly. This incalculable wind had the consequence that some athletes already landed at 80 meters and were accordingly frustrated about seven minutes behind after the jump. Frustrated was also the dominating nordic combined athlete of this winter, Jarl Magnus Riiber. Although the Norwegian missed only a few meters on Szczepan Kupczak (POL, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and FJ Rehrl (AUT), but 1:42 minutes behind the Pole and 30 seconds behind the strong skiers in front of him meant a lot of work in cross-country skiing.

But also today Jarl Magnus Riiber showed again a strong performance in the course and caught up Kupczak and Rehrl with the other strong skiers after four kilometers. After that, the pace was completely out and it became tactically, so that at the slow pace even the Pole could keep up until the beginning of the last lap. Then the pace became faster and Riiber and Vinzenz Geiger usually led the group. On the last climb, the German was clearly stronger and tried to break away. But the Norwegian had the much faster ski in the downhill to the stadium, so he took the next victory. Vinzenz Geiger finished second ahead of Jørgen Graabak. Fifth place went to Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots). His brother Yoshito (JPN, Fischer ski, bindings and boots) came in seventh ahead of Espen Bjørnstad (NOR, Fischer ski, bindings and boots) and Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer ski, bindings and boots).
