Her successes read like a little fairy tale: 18 World Cup victories, second in the overall World Cup 17l18 and winner of the Sprint World Cup 17l18 and 18l19...the list can be continued for a while. But after three gold and silver medals each at the Olympics, one complete medal game in gold, silver and bronze at World Championships, as well as two gold medals at European Championships, this is now the end. Anastasiya Kuzmina (SVK) symbolically hooks the biathlon rifle and her skis and now wants to take care of her family and especially the two children.

If you catch a glimpse of Kikkan Randall only briefly, even without one of the US team suits she wore for nearly two decades, there’s a practiced ease to the way she moves that belies recreational skiing. Kikkan is fast even when she’s standing still and in the weeks following her last treatment for cancer in March of 2019, she brought every bit of emotion, every nuanced tip and bit of her skiing gravity with her to a Fischer sponsored tour visiting schools, shops, ski areas and ski events. The result has been a trail of inspiration leading would-be Olympians and longtime fans of the sport along with Kikkan into the next chapter of her adventure.

Matthieu Tordeur crossed the land of extremes

Matthieu Tordeur has embarked on the expedition of his life. The figures speak for themselves: at 27, he covered 1150 kilometres on skis in 50 days in November 2018 with a 100-kilo sled in tow. This makes him the youngest ever and first French explorer to make the journey from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole - alone on skis, without a kite and without any outside support. After his return, he talks about the peculiarities of Antarctica, the special living conditions there and why he didn't take off his skis from the very first day when he wasn't in his tent.

Andreas Nygaard wins Ylläs-Levi

At the end of the VISMA Ski Classics Series 2019, the race over 70 kilometres from Ylläs to Levi in Finland was once again exciting. In the end Andreas Nygaard (Team Ragde Eiendom, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) was unbeatable and won the overall ranking of the season. Britta Johansson Norgren (Lager 157 Ski Team, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) was the overall winner already before the start and finished third today.
