The summer season is upon us and that means it’s time to hit the pavement. Cross country skiers are fortunate to have a form of warm weather training that’s so similar to the real thing, with rollerskiing building plenty of cardio, endurance and specific strength capacity for the coming winter. But rollerskiing, admittedly, can be rather tricky to master, so we decided to ask Kikkan Randall and Sadie Maubet Bjornsen for some tips to keep you safe, productive and having fun.

What can these boards do?

Offtrack skis are basically part of Thomas Ulrich’s own feet at this point. The Swiss adventurer has logged thousands of kilometers on them, mostly in the Arctic, at the North Pole, in Greenland, really anywhere there is endless snow and ice. Skate skis come out of the gear closet somewhat rarely. However, they’re part of the mix on this winter day in the Bernese Highlands, known locally as the Berner Oberland. Thomas wants to let a group of kids explore the full range of what these narrow skis can do. The little Nordic skiers are eager to show him what they find fun about this type of skiing, while Thomas plans to take them away from the prepared tracks to where he most enjoys seeking out challenges.

Every Nordic skiing fan knows the name Tord Asle Gjerdalen. Sporting his trademark sunglasses, for years he’s been a fixture on the podium at ski marathons around the world. Going into this season, only one major title had eluded him: Vasaloppet. He went out and got it in an impressive record time of 3:28:18. For the 12th straight time Fischer dominates Nordic World Cup

Flying to victory in the final World Cup competition of the 20l21 season, Germany’s Karl Geiger put a decisive exclamation point on an extremely successful season on behalf of the entire Fischer Race Family. After Fischer showed itself to be the most successful ski, boot, and binding brand at all three world championships this winter, Fischer athletes emphatically confirmed themselves to be at that same level over the entire season for the 12th straight time.
