Stefan Kraft celebrates his first win of the season in Nizhniy Tagil

Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) won the second competition of Ski Jumping World Cup in Nizhniy Tagil (RUS). Second place went to Kilian Peier (SUI, Fischer).

After his 140 meters in the first round, Stefan Kraft was in second place, because Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) jumped his 133.5 meters in much worse conditions. In the final, Kraft had to beat the distance of Kilian Peier, who had cheered loudly about his 137 meters with a strong headwind. The Austrian used his 134.5 meters to extend his lead over the Swiss. Ryoyu Kobayashi had to jump again with a strong tailwind, but this time he made a mistake at the take-off, so that he landed far too early. The victory was lost, but thanks to his great lead from the first round, it was still enough for third place. Thomas Aasen Markeng (NOR, Fischer), who was sent back from Moscow to Oslo due to problems with his passport, traveled to Nizhniy Tagil especially for the jumping competition on Sunday and finished fifth ahead of Karl Geiger (GER, Fischer) despite his travel stress. Eighth place went to Peter Prevc (SLO, Fischer).
