SELMA STURMBERGER –
THE „VOICE IN THE BACKGROUND“

1924 – 2010

Together with her brother Josef Fischer, Selma Sturmberger took over the management of the company after the death of her father in 1959. "She was always approachable for employees and would listen to whatever was on their minds," is how Franz Wisata, an employee of Fischer for many years, remembers Selma Sturmberger.

Selma Sturmberger, born on 27 October 1924, attended business school in Ried. She was married to Alfred Sturmberger and gave birth to two children named Barbara and Paul. She loved the opera in general and Richard Wagner in particular. Selma Sturmberger worked as a member of the managing board and was a member of the supervisory board at Fischer until August 1999. The older sister of Josef Fischer by five years, she passed away on 20 February 2010.

She will always be remembered as a highly respected, warmhearted lady who was to be found in her office in Fischerstrasse every day right until the end.
