Stefan Kraft ends Austrian lack of victories

Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) finally got a victory in Austria after a 22-month series with no wins.

In Zakopane all favorites had problems with the difficult wind conditions in the first round - all but Stefan Kraft, who was in the lead after the first jump. Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) even didn't made the cut. In the final, the big catch-up started, for example from Johann Andre Forfang (NOR) from 19 to 4 or Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) from 23 to 7. But 133 and 132, 5 meters from Stefan Kraft were enough for his first victory for 22 months - the last success he celebrated in late March 2017 in Planica (SLO). In recent weeks, he was repeatedly addressed on his podium finishes and when finally the first victory will follow. "I also like to wait until Seefeld," he answered then mostly. Well, it has already worked out sooner and not only since today he is one of the medal candidates on his well-known hills in Seefeld and Innsbruck. His teammate Daniel Huber (AUT, Fischer) finished sixth.
