Stefan Kraft defeats Karl Geiger on the normal hill

Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) took the win in the second competition in Rasnov (ROU) followed by Karl Geiger (GER, Fischer).

After three victories by Karl Geiger, Stefan Kraft managed to beat the German on the normal hill for the first time this season. Already in the first round the Austrian jumped the hill record with 103 meters (as well as Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT, Fischer) and Constantin Schmid (GER)) and took the lead after the first jump. In the final he also jumped a bit further than the German and was able to narrowly extend his lead. Karl Geiger was missing about 3.5 points to win. "Before the second jump I knew that Karl was in the lead and I was a bit nervous and felt the pressure because the two of us are fighting for the overall World Cup lead. I had to risk a lot in order to come in ahead of him and it's amazing that it worked out so well for me today", says Stefan Kraft. Kamil Stoch (POl, Fischer) finished ninth.
