Seventh World Cup victory for Tiril Eckhoff

Tiril Eckhoff (NOR, Fischer ***) celebrated her seventh World Cup victory at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen (AUT). Second place in the pursuit went to Hanna Öberg (SWE, Fischer ***), third place went to Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (NOR, Fischer ***).

Tiril Eckhoff, Hanna Öberg and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold had an exciting three-way battle during the entire race. In the end, Eckhoff's perfect shooting was the reason for her seventh World Cup victory. The sprint fifth-placed from Sweden had to ski the penalty loop twice and finally crossed the finish line 23 seconds behind. Tandrevold reached the finish another twelve seconds later after one shooting error. The sprint-25th Justine Braisaz (FRA, Fischer ***) showed an excellent catch-up and finished fourth despite her two penalty laps, ahead of Paulina Fialkova (SVK, Fischer ***). Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer ***) finished seventh ahead of Eva Kristejn Puskarcikova (CZE, Fischer ***). Celia Aymonier (FRA, Fischer ***) was ranked tenth.
