Second World Cup victory for Jarl Magnus Riiber

After a great catch up with Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots), Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) could celebrate his second World Cup victory in Lillehammer (NOR).

After the trial round was cancelled after many breaks after almost half of the jumpers, the competition round could happen more or less as planned. Nevertheless, the conditions were extremely difficult, with gusts of wind and changing wind, as well as heavy rain, which was the reason for big differences in the results. Eric Frenzel and Jarl Magnus Riiber were sixth and seventh after the skijump before today's only 5-kilometer cross-country race and started 44 and 47 seconds behind the best jumper Franz-Josef Rehrl (AUT) with a catch-up. Although the Austrian looked like a sure winner for a long time, the duo was able to overtake him on the last climb and fly past him. In the final sprint, Riiber took his first win of the season out of the slipstream after finishing second in Ruka. The German was by a hair's breadth. Mario Seidl (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished fifth ahead of Espen Andersen (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots). Go Yamamoto (JPN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) came in eighth ahead of Einar Lurås Oftebro (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
