Second place for Quentin Fillon Maillet

Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA, Fischer ***) secured second place in the sprint race in Ruhpolding (GER), which was the best sprint result of his career. Philipp Nawrath (GER, Fischer ***) was close to a win, but finally finished seventh.

In the fight neck and neck, Quentin Fillon Maillet has always been a candidate for the podium, but now he can do it also in the sprint. After three third places in the last two winters, he took second place for the first time in today's spint in Ruhpolding - and the gap to Martin Fourcade (FRA) was only three seconds! In Ruhpolding there are often very close races, because if you have a well-manageable shooting range, you have to get zero. Fabien Claude (FRA, Fischer ***) and Simon Desthieux (FRA) shared the position of third best Frenchman in fifth. However, Fourcade still had to fear when he was already giving winner interviews, because local hero Philipp Nawrath was only a second behind him after the second shooting. However, the final lap is not yet one of the specialties of the 27-year-old but inexperienced German, who finished seventh. His teammate Johannes Kühn (GER, Fischer ***) came in ninth.
