In the first half of the race, it looked as if the strong Swiss relay team with the Gasparin sisters Elisa, Selina and Aita (all SUI) and final skier Lena Häcki (SUI, Fischer ***) could go even better and win for the first time for Switzerland, but after a penalty from Aita, Switzerland initially went backwards. Marte Olsbu Røiseland quickly brought her team to the top in a group with France and Sweden after Norway was one minute behind after the first two skiers. This three-way fight continued until the end when Tiril Eckhoff continued only with one spare round while her opponents fought against the penalty loop. The victory was not to be taken from Norway, second place went to the Swedes Elvira Öberg (SWE), Linn Persson (SWE, Fischer ***), Mona Brorsson (SWE) and Hanna Öberg (SWE, Fischer ***) followed by the French women Julia Simon (FRA), Anais Bescond (FRA), Celia Aymonier (FRA, Fischer ***) and Justine Braisaz (FRA, Fischer ***). Fourth place went to Germany with Vanessa Hinz (GER), Janina Hettich (GER, Fischer ***), Maren Hammerschmidt (GER) and Denise Herrmann (GER, Fischer ***), after Denise Herrmannwas able to overtake Lena Häcki with a first-class shooting.
In the men's relay race, the Belarusians Anton Smolski (BLR), Sergey Bocharnikov (BLR), Raman Yaliotnau (BLR, Fischer ***) and Mikita Labastau (BLR, Fischer ***) were the surprise of the day. Smolski kept up as the starting athlete with Thomas Bormolini (ITA, Fischer **) and Lars Helge Birkeland (NOR, Fischer ***), after the third shooting Bocharnikov was even alone in the lead and came together with Erlend Bjøntegaard to the exchange. In the fifth shooting, however, Johannes Dale opened a gap to the Belarusian Raman Yaliotnau, who handed over to their final skier together with Arnd Peiffer (GER) and Simon Desthieux (FRA) after all the athletes had major problems with standing shooting in difficult winds. It was the same in the last shooting where Vetle Christiansen lost his big lead and he had to catch up with Quentin Fillon Maillet (FRA, Fischer ***) before he could take the victory. The French secured second place ahead of the German team with Philipp Horn (GER, Fischer ***), Johannes Kühn (GER, Fischer ***), Arnd Peiffer (GER) and Benedikt Doll (GER). Fourth place went to the Russians Said Khalili (RUS, Fischer ***), Evgeniy Garanichev (RUS, Fischer ***), Nikita Porshnev (RUS, Fischer ***) and Eduard Latypov (RUS, Fischer ***) followed by the Belarusian quartet.
