Kamil Stoch third-placed in Willingen

Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) made it onto the podium at the first and perhaps only competition this weekend in Willingen (GER) because of storm front 'Sabine'.

After yesterday all the jumps were blown off due to stormy gusts, today was calm in Willingen before the big storm, so that both qualification and competition could take place without any problems. Tomorrow's competition has been brought forward a few hours - tomorrow it will be decided whether it can take place. In the first round, as in the rescheduled qualification, there were perfect conditions with a slight headwind for all jumpers, which Kamil Stoch used for a long jump to 139.5 meters and thus narrowly led the classification. In the final, the conditions became a little worse and more changeable, only the last four jumpers had a pleasant headwind again. However, the Pole was unable to defend his lead and dropped back to third after jumping 137 meters. Victory went to Willingen local hero Stephan Leyhe (GER), who celebrated his first World Cup victory. Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) missed the podium in fourth, but was able to extend his lead in the overall World Cup. Karl Geiger (GER, Fischer) was fifth, seventh went to Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT, Fischer) followed by Peter Prevc (SLO, Fischer).
