Jarl Magnus Riiber still misses three points after his ninth win of the season to claim his first big crystal globe for winning the overall World Cup. However, the 21-year-old had to fight hard for this victory against the strong Germans who had their home crowd as backing. First, however, the Austrians succeeded in ski jumping in snowfall and changeable wind conditions. The newly crowned Junior World Champion Johannes Lamparter (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) beamed over the whole face after the jump and entered the track five seconds ahead of FJ Rehrl (AUT). On the second of five laps Riiber made the connection together with Manuel Faißt (GER) and also Vinzenz Geiger was able to approach the group in the third lap. Now the race consisted only of tactics, mostly Rehrl had to do the work in the lead, but sometimes it also came to a standstill, so that the four-man chase group at the beginning of the last lap joined the top group. Vinzenz Geiger was the first to attack at the last small climb before the highest point, but Jarl Magnus Riiber counterattacked and both opened a small gap. But because they were watching each other on the way down to the stadium, some pursuers came back and Johannes Rydzek fought for the victory. Riiber and Geiger proved to be stronger on the home stretch, however, and it was the finish photo that decided the winner: Jarl Magnus Riiber. Johannes Rydzek took third place ahead of Ilkka Herola (FIN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots). Johannes Lamparter finished eighth in his first top10 result.
