Jarl Riiber celebrates fourth win of the season

Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) is still in the shape of his life and has already claimed his fourth win of the season in Ramsau (AUT).

The jumping round on the hill in Ramsau was canceled after 90 minutes duration two jumpers before the end. The whole round took place under irregular conditions, but since the weather forecast for tomorrow is not better, the jury tried everything to make it through the competition - even though many jumpers had absolutely no chance. "It's very changeable after the take-off, it keeps changing, even while the jumper has started from the bar. A very difficult situation for the jury and us jumpers, you just have to try to make the best of it", said Lukas Klapfer (AUT) about his home World Cup and his team-mate Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) said: "Jumping is not fun that way, as there are always tailwinds that you can not take into account - this is a challenge, also for the jury." The Norwegian Espen Andersson (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) caught a sudden gust of 4 m/s from the back and from the side and was only able to land very early while paddling with his arms, but came safely down. Only minutes later, the conditions were significantly better for a short time, but that only lasted for the duration of two jumpers. Then the announced heavy rain set in and the wind continued to freshen up to peaks of 7 m/s and the interruptions became even longer. The last two jumpers Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Jarl Magnus Riiber had to wait 25 minutes on the hill until the jumping round was stopped before them. The provisional competition round was used so that all four disqualified jumpers were allowed to participate - including Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots), who, according to equipment controller Guntram Kraus, wore a much too big suit.

In the cross-country race over four laps of 2.5 kilometers in length, Jarl Magnus Riiber caught up with his nine-second deficit to Franz-Josef Rehrl (AUT) in the first climb. Since the gap against the chasers was very large, the Norwegian had to ski not too high pace and remained together with the Austrian until the last lap. Immediately outside the stadium, the Norwegian attacked, pulled away from the Austrian and got his next victory, while Rehrl behind him was celebrated by his home crowd. Behind the leading duo, more than ten athletes fought for a podium finish and four of them even side by side in the final sprint. Johannes Rydzek and Vinzenz Geiger (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) were beaten by Fabian Rießle (GER) and took fourth and fifth place ahead of Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Bernhard Gruber. Mario Seidl (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished ninth ahead of Terence Weber (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
