Denise Herrmann was in a class of her own today, completed her race with using her wits and did her "best biathlon race" so far. 20 shots and 20 hits with measured skiing pace - it doesn't get any better than this, so the former cross-country skier was more than satisfied herself: "It's crazy to get 20 hits at all. I have already philosophized with mom whether this will ever work. It was definitely my best biathlon race. Such a shooting performance, I have never done it before. I stayed focused on the last shooting, had a good flow and didn't think too much so that I could still hit the targets. I just have to have the courage to reduce my pace, like I did in the last races, and that paid off with more hits. That naturally gives me more confidence for the World Championships." Her only real competitor in today's race was Hanna Öberg, who missed a target in the second shooting and ended up exactly one minute behind Denise Herrmann. After her illness after the turn of the year, Franziska Preuß (GER, Fischer ***) still has a lot of backlog demand, so she concentrated on shooting and finished fifth with four perfect shotings. Lisa Theresa Hauser (AUT, Fischer ***) finished seventh. Tenth place went to Emma Lunder (CAN, Fischer **).
