Ryoyu Kobayashi and Markus Eisenbichler are the two dominating jumpers of the previous two competitions of the Four Hills Tournament. The German already looked like the winner with a two meter longer final jump than the Japanese, but the wind points were the decisive factor for another victory of the Japanese with almost two points difference. But the German's first World Cup victory will not last long in this great form: "The first jump was really cool and the emotions had to go out. The second jump was not so good, because I had to intervene above. I had hoped for the first victory, but maybe it works in the next few days." After a weak first jump as in Oberstdorf Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) was only in 16th place, but in the final he was still able to move up to sixth place.
