Alexander Loginov gets his first World Cup victory

In the sprint in Oberhof (GER), Alexander Loginov (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) celebrated his first World Cup victory. Second was Johannes Thingnes Bø (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).

Alexander Loginov delivered a perfect performance in the sprint in snowfall and difficult wind conditions and was rewarded with his first World Cup victory. With his fast shooting, he put pressure on other athletes like Martin Fourcade (FRA) standing next to him. With five seconds gap, both went into their final lap, but the Frenchman could not approach the fast Russian and even lost a few seconds. Loginov was just 3.9 seconds slower than Johannes Thingnes Bø, but with one penalty not more than second place was possible for the Norwegian who lost 11 seconds to Loginov on the final lap. "I shot well today and was lucky with the wind, which was quieter when I had to shoot", said the Russian. Julian Eberhard (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished sixth, just ahead of Martin Fourcade. Tarjei Bø (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) came in eighth.
