Summer-Interview #3: Ida Marie Hagen
With her overall World Cup victory, Ida Marie Hagen has once again proven that she is one of the most influential athletes in Nordic combined. In this summer interview, the Norwegian talks about her favorite moments during training, the special sense of family during practice, her goals for the World Championships in Falun, and why taking a dip in the ocean is always a good idea for her.

What are this year’s milestones in your summer training?
This year’s milestone in the summer training is the Summer Grand Prix in Oberstdorf in August! The competition there is always so cool, with amazing atmosphere and crowd cheering you on in the streets of Oberstdorf in the night. The big hill in Oberstdorf gives extra excitement, since it is one of the biggest hills we jump in competition – I love that.
Do you have a favorite training buddy, and why?
My favorite training buddy is my sister Mille. She is always cool to train with. She pushes me and brings so good energy into training. It is always fun to train together, and I feel that we get maximum effort out of the training. Our mom is also super sporty and joins a lot of our sessions, and dad as the coach. A little bit like a family business.

What is your favorite off-season training?
My favorite off-season training is snowboarding, mountain biking or tennis.

How is your favorite way to recharge for next season during summer?
During the summer I always go to our family cabin south in Norway. There I swim, play tennis and spend time with my friends and family, which always makes me feel energized.
What are your holiday plans for this summer?
My holiday plans are to spend as much time as possible at our cabin, go to some concerts and at the end of the summer I am going to my cousin's wedding in France.

What are your goals for the next season?
The main goal for the next season is the World Championship in Falun. The two last World Championships have not been 100% successful for me, so I am excited to change a few things in the preparations that hopefully will help me perform better.

Which three things should we know about you?
My dream job besides being an athlete is either to work as a professional dancer or as a chef. My favorite food is hotdog. You never regret going for a swim in the ocean, that is my motto in life.
