Fischer Grant: Shawangunk Nordic Ski Association

As one of the five recipients of Fischer Grants’ 2019-2020 season awards the Shawangunk Nordic Ski Association (SNSA) has received a $2,500 cash donation that facilitated the purchase of updated grooming equipment for club use. Fischer’s Access and Engagement grants are aimed at increasing access to skiing (and Hockey) and come in the form of either monetary or product support.

Founded as a non-profit organization in 2014, SNSA’s mission to “promote and support all aspects of cross-country skiing in the Shawangunk Mountains and surrounding Hudson Valley region” fits perfectly with the Fischer Grants Vision. The organization keeps the public up to date on trail conditions in the area and now, thanks to Fischer’s support, can assist in maintaining the trails throughout the winter.

Fischer Grants’ $2,500 donation went toward the purchase of grooming equipment, which included a Yellowstone Track Systems groomer. These tow-behind groomers from Sheridan, Wyo. are some of the most popular in their category and will greatly improve the trail quality on SNSA maintained trails. Now all the organization needs is plenty of snow to work with!
