After retiring from competitive skiing in 2006 Kristian Ghedina went on to coach Ivica Kostelic (CRO) and take part in numerous motorsport races. His run at the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel on 24 January 2004 made him even more popular. He took the spectators and TV commentators by surprise with a spread-eagle jump as he approached the finish line and still finished in sixth place. Since 2014 he has also been working for his ski company Fischer in the development sector and has launched a new era in the field of piste racing skis with the development of the CURV ski.
