Keep Moving: Sabine Schipflinger Profile

Sabine Schipflinger, the professional Austrian freeride athlete who has been with Fischer since 2014, calls Innsbruck home. She loves to hit the slopes at the resort Saalbach, a few hours down the road.

When she’s not riding lifts and rocking her Ranger 102 skis and RC4 Podium boots, she’s exploring the mountains in her backyard with her Hannibal 96 skis and Transalp Pro boots.

When asked about her preferences, Schipflinger notes about Fischer skis, “They work for everything in all terrain,” and explains about the boots, “I love the performance of both.”

What are the top 3 things we should know about you?

I am nuts about nuts, I always have a bag of nuts in my backpack. I love to bake cakes, and I used to play the clarinet.

Favorite Quote or Personal Motto?

Life is like riding a bicycle: To keep your balance, you must keep moving.

Favorite hobbies (besides skiing, of course)?

I love to ride my mountain bike on trails/downhill, the feeling is so similar to skiing.

Where have you not been that you want to go to (preferably for skiing)?

Iceland

Most memorable moment while competing in freeride:

We were a bunch of riders who traveled, skied, and competed together all over Europe the whole winter and we had so much fun. I will always remember the time we spent together at the competitions.

What advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your competitive career?

Always have fun and don’t take it too seriously.
