Preparations for the new season have been in full swing for months now. On 25 October the time has finally arrived for the official opening of the World Cup on the Rettenbachferner slopes in Sölden, Austria. In addition to Katharina Truppe, Ramona Siebenhofer has also qualified for the women's Giant Slalom on Saturday. The men's event on Sunday will see Stefan Brennsteiner, Roland Leitinger, Thomas Tumler and Manfred Mölgg in action.
The team for the coming season is a strong group of athletes, who are looking forward to welcoming some new talent: Four athletes from three different nations will strengthen the Fischer Race Family for the winter 19I20. The experienced Italian Matteo Marsaglia and the two young Swiss skiers Urs Kryenbühl and Stefan Rogetin join the team in the speed disciplines, while the young Austrian Katharina Huber joins the team in the technical disciplines.
Fischer Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter is looking forward to an exciting new season: "We are very pleased to be able to expand our team again this year. With Matteo Marsaglia from Italy, our team gains an experienced and technically gifted skier. Especially with regard to the 2021 World Championships in Cortina, he will deliver some exciting races and we are convinced that he has great potential. With the two talented young skiers Urs Kryenbühl and Stefan Rogetin we also have the next generation of speed specialists on board and at the same time strengthen our team in Switzerland. And the young Katharina Huber complements our Austrian team perfectly."
