What are the milestones of your summer training this year?

For me, summer is all about laying the fundamentals for the winter season. The focus is largely on athleticism, strength, and stability, but of course also on training on snow, which starts up again in August. An important milestone is always getting back into a good rhythm step by step after the break. This is followed by the first more intensive training blocks on snow, during which you rebuild your feel for the sport and your confidence. At the same time, it’s also about staying healthy and being able to train consistently. Especially in skiing, continuity throughout the summer is extremely important.

What's your favorite workout during the off-season?

I probably like workouts that are varied and intense the most. I’m the kind of person who likes to push myself to my limits. I especially enjoy strength training and fast, explosive workouts because they’re very similar to skiing. But in the summer, I also enjoy training outdoors in the mountains or on my bike. Variety is very important for me.

Do you have a favorite workout partner, and why?

To be honest, no. I often train on my own during the summer. I only train with the team off the snow for about three weeks. Once we’re back on the snow, I generally really enjoy training with people who bring positive energy and work professionally every day. During ski training, we constantly push each other, and that’s exactly what helps us improve. At the same time, we can’t forget to have fun—especially during the long season that follows.

What's your favorite way to recharge your energy during the summer in preparation for the next season?

For me, it’s important to consciously take a break from skiing during the summer. Spending time with family and friends really helps me recharge mentally. I also enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, by the lake, or in the mountains. Often, it’s the simple things that help me the most to start my training again feeling refreshed and motivated.

What are your vacation plans for this summer?

My vacation time is already over. I usually treat myself to some time off right after the intense season in late April/early May, and then I focus entirely on preparation. A lot depends on the training schedule, of course, but generally speaking, I like vacation spots where you can be active outdoors and still have some peace and quiet.

'Consistency throughout the summer is particularly important in skiing.'

What are your goals for upcoming season?

My goal is to consistently perform at the highest level and take the next step. Of course, you’re always working toward top results, but at the same time, it’s also about staying healthy and performing consistently well throughout the season. I believe that if I train well over the summer and can perform at my best, a lot is possible.
