One week before the men, the women kicked off the slalom season last weekend in Levi. In beautiful Lapland in Finland, there were two races on the first World Cup weekend of the very short radii, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Katharina Huber made the best impression from Fischer's point of view this weekend. With a strong 8th place in the slalom on Saturday and an equally respectable 11th place in the slalom on Sunday, the Austrian made a strong start to the season.
Next weekend, the women's downhill race in Zermatt/Cervinia is on the agenda, which unfortunately had to be canceled for the men. On the 25th/26th, the slalom athletes will be back in action at the World Cup in Killington.
