In absence of Johannes Thingnes Bø (NOR, Fischer ***), who is waiting for the birth of his first child at home, his brother Tarjei Bø (NOR, Fischer ***) was the top favorite. The Norwegian missed a target in his standing stage but skied past the penalty loop and went into the downhill. Shortly thereafter, he reappeared on top of the hill against the skiing direction and made up leeway. But even if the shooting was without any miss, he obviously would have had no chance to win - Martin Fourcade (FRA) was too strong. After a long discussion, the jury did not punish the Norwegian, so he was placed 24th. Behind two Frenchmen, Johannes Kühn was happy with third place, which meant the second podium of his career: "Of course I am satisfied with a podium. The mistake in standing was annoying because I was able to control it, but I don't want to complain. I started the first lap too quickly, as I noticed that later", he said. Due to the lack of snow, only a 2.5 km lap could be prepared, so that two laps had to be raced between the two shootings - in heavy rain. "It is only 25 minutes for us, but I am sorry for the spectators who spend hours in the rain here", said Kühn. Alexander Loginov (RUS, Fischer ***) was fifth, seventh went to Johannes Dale (NOR, Fischer ***).
