"Last season didn't go to plan. Two fourth places at the Olympics and no victory in the individual races in the World Cup – this did not meet my expectations," explained the young, confident Norwegian. "I knew that something would have to change."
The Nordic Combined specialist, who at the age of 20 is one of the youngest in the World Cup field, demands top performance not only from himself but also from his equipment.
"I simply always try to push everything to the limit – whether it is me personally or my equipment. With the experience Fischer has and the service offered to me here I am confident that I can improve significantly in terms of equipment technology and will then have better chances as a result, too, if I work hard on myself," says the junior world champion, explaining the reasons why he changed. "I tested quite a lot earlier in the year and I simply have the best feeling with the complete setup from Fischer."
The big goal for the upcoming season will of course be his first World Championships in Seefeld (AUT). "At the Olympics last winter I finished fourth twice in the individual competitions and came second with the team. I aim to change that in the upcoming winter." His sights will be firmly set on winning his first WCH medal – a gold one if possible. And his shoulder, which at times even thwarted his plans on the final straight, no longer poses a problem: "The shoulder injury has cleared up completely. I sometimes find myself having to think which shoulder it actually was that caused me the problems."
Jarl Magnus Riiber was on the podium in six of the last eight individual races last season. He would now like to carry on where he left off with new equipment and with the aim of making it to the top of the podium. "I'm delighted to have become a member of the Fischer Race Family. It gives me a good feeling to be able to build on the support of such an experienced team," says the likeable Norwegian with a positive outlook and fully motivated.
