Hanna Öberg finally did it: As one of the top favorites, the Swede was finally able to collect her medal in Antholz after three fourth and one fifth place. Again Antholz Queen Marte Olsbu Røiseland (NOR), with five gold and two bronze medals in seven races, was unbeatable, even though Katharina Innerhofer (AUT, Fischer ***) was the leader in the first half of the race. Hanna Öberg took the lead on the fourth lap, but she had to give it back after two penalties in the last shooting. After all, it was enough for the long-awaited bronze medal, which she had to fight for on the last lap against Monika Hojnisz-Starega (POL, Fischer **) and relegated the Pole to fourth place. Ekaterina Yurlova-Percht (RUS, Fischer ***) finished sixth ahead of Tiril Eckhoff (NOR, Fischer ***), who completed two more penalty loops. Franziska Preuss (GER, Fischer ***) took seventh place and another top ten place as in all races before. Lisa Theresa Hauser (AUT, Fischer ***) finished ninth.
After falling on the first lap, Johannes Thingnes Bø was only seventh, eight seconds behind, despite a flawless first shoot, but shortly afterwards he took the lead and never gave it back because he hit each target this time. Despite his three penalties, second-placed Quentin Fillon Maillet was only 45 seconds behind at the finish. Brother Tarjei Bø (NOR, Fischer ***) was beaten in the fight for bronze by World Champion Emilien Jacquelin (FRA) in the final sprint. Felix Leitner (AUT, Fischer ***) finished sixth, his best World Championship and World Cup result. Johannes Dale (NOR, Fischer ***) finished eighth ahead of Julian Eberhard (AUT, Fischer ***) and Johannes Kühn (GER, Fischer ***).
