FISCHER FAMILY DAY

Today was a very special day for many: at the Fischer Family Day on Saturday the manufacturer of sporting goods from Ried im Innkreis opened its doors to families and relatives of all employees. Besides guided tours through the heart of the company – ski production – there was an exciting side programme for young and old.Numerous athletes also made their way to the Fischer headquarters.

What does this workplace look like that mum and dad talk about in the evening? What does my brother do all day in his office or how does my sister help to make the skis that Nici Schmidhofer or Marit Björgen use to become world champions? These and many other questions were answered in the course of the Fischer Family Day. A very special day for families, relatives and friends of everyone who works at Fischer, because this day gave them the chance to take a look behind the scenes.

During the exclusive tours of the 'holy halls' of the ski-making plant, visitors were able to take a close look at the range of products and the Fischer team members gave their nearest and dearest an insight into their working environment. Both young and old put their skills to the test in street hockey and races on jumping skis while precision was the order of the day with hockey target goals and laser biathlon. Guests even had the opportunity to build a ski themselves using a dry process.

"A fantastic idea that has been put into practice here by Fischer for the entire team. It's really nice to see how enthusiastic the children are when they get to know exactly where their parents work and what they do," said Austrian speed specialist Vincent Kriechmayr. He and numerous other successful Fischer athletes such as Eva Maria Brem, Marit Björgen, Max Franz, Bernhard Gruber, Hans Knauss, Franziska Preuss, Nici Schmidhofer, Mario Seidl, Ramona Siebenhofer and Teresa Stadlober travelled especially to Ried im Innkreis to experience the Fischer Family Day first-hand. The World Cup stars spent hours signing autographs, giving Fischer Race Family members of all ages helpful tips and having photos taken which not only the children were proud to take home with them.

"The Fischer Family day was a complete success," says Franz Föttinger, Fischer CEO, summing up. "Not only the entire Fischer team, also all the visitors and athletes spent an exciting day at our company headquarters. We are particularly pleased when our employees present their workplace with pride – and rightly so, as they are the ones who make a significant contribution to the success of the company as a whole."
