Anastasiya Kuzmina was in skiing again (almost) in her own world. Franziska Preuss was completely surprised about her second place with perfect shooting: "I only shot standing the last few days because I have problems with my elbow, after I was clumsy in Östersund and fell down the stairs. So I was surprised, that I'm shooting so well. This was only the second sprint of my life, in which I hit all the targets." With Paulina Fialkova, after a small lack of form in recent weeks, a second Slovak made it onto the podium. Celia Aymonier (FRA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) narrowly missed the podium in fourth. Denise Herrmann (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) was the best athlete with two penalties in fifth place and also 1.1 seconds faster than Kuzmina. Tiril Eckhoff (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) took seventh place. Emma Lunder (CAN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished ninth ahead of Elisabeth Högberg (SWE, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
