After a Tour de Ski which did not go according to his plan, Martin Johnsrud Sundby also wasn't able to win in Ulricehamn. The Norwegian started out very slowly into his race but he sped up and moved up place by place. Nevertheless he was 16 seconds behind Alex Harvey (CAN) at the last intermediate point but with speeding up during his final lap he was able to finish only six seconds behind the winner. With four athletes within four seconds the last podium spot was very hard-fought and finally went to Marcus Hellner who made his Swedish audience celebrate again. Dario Cologna (SUI, Fischer skis and boots) was edged out by just 0.4 seconds after he was the first chaser of the Canadian for a long time. Seventh went to Daniel Rickardsson (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) followed by Finn Hågen Krogh (NOR, Fischer) who was among the athletes fighting for the podium but dropped behind then. Petr Sedov (RUS, Fischer skis and boots) came back to top level after a few difficult years with finishing ninth today. Keishin Yoshida (JPN, Fischer) realized his carreer's best with tenth position.
