Phillipp Aschenwald jumps into second place

With his second place in Ruka (FIN), Philipp Aschenwald (AUT, Fischer) achieved his best World Cup result so far.

The competition was whirled up by disqualification from a total of five athletes (three Norwegians and two Slovenes) for an incorrect suit. Johan Andre Forfang (NOR) and Robert Johansson (NOR) were in the top five in the first round, while Marius Lindvik (NOR) and Peter Prevc (SLO, Fischer) lost places two and three in the final. Despite all the problems with the suits of his teammates, the winner also comes from Norway: Daniel Andre Tande (NOR). The gap to Philipp Aschenwald in second place is quite large with almost ten points because of the disqualifications, but nevertheless a great success for the Austrian who won his first individual podium. His teammates Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) and Daniel Huber (AUT, Fischer) finished fourth and fifth. Seventh place went to Karl Geiger (GER, Fischer), Thomas Aasen Markeng (NOR, Fischer) finished tenth.
