Almost at the same time, Charlotte Kalla (SWE, Fischer skis and bindings) and Therese Johaug started into the final ten-kilometer handicap race in the classic style - the two-second starting backlog she quickly made up and the Norwegian took command. After the first 2.5 kilometers she climbed above the stadium in the ascents and was able to break away from the Swede. The gap grew to six seconds until the end of the first lap, but in the climb after the stadium Kalla lost much ground, so that Ebba Andersson approached closer and caught up with the teammate after about 7.5 kilometers. The 21-year-old did not stay there very long and started a chase on Johaug in the increasing snow fall, while Kalla had to worry about the approaching Ingvild Flugstad Østberg. In the ascent in front of the stadium Østberg passed Kalla, while Johaug came across the line as the winner. On the final stretch, there was still a duel between Andersson and Østberg, which the Swede narrowly won and secured the second place with 16 seconds behind. Sprint specialist Stina Nilsson (SWE, Fischer skis and bindings) finished in sixth place after about 90 seconds behind after a first-class race. Seventh place went to Teresa Stadlober (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots), who could not keep up with the Swede's final attack. Natalia Nepryaeva (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) was eighth ahead of Ragnhild Haga (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Sadie Bjornsen (USA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
The men's 15-kilometer handicap race began with a furious start by Emil Iversen, who made up the eleven-second starting gap on the leading duo Røthe/Tønseth within a few hundred meters but lost a lot few kilometers later. In the long climb at kilometer three, he almost stopped, the ski was no longer worging good in the increasing snowfall and he caught up with the big chasing group at the beginning of the second lap. The group now decided to fight just for third place, so that the pace in the rest of the race was neither very high at the top nor in the first chasing group. From the leading position, Sjur Røthe (NOR) attacked into the small downhill into the stadium, but because of the many fresh snow he could not accelerate and his teammate Didrik Tønseth took the victory on the home straight out of the slipstream. In the stadium Emil Iversen proved to be the strongest, he had recovered well and took the podium place with a powerful sprint. Sixth place went to Andrey Larkov (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and shoes). Dario Cologna (SUI, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) had to settle for tenth place in the final sprint.
