For a long time, everything in the single mixed relay looked like a duel between Ukraine and Germany until Ukraine dropped back to sixth after three penalties from Anastasiya Merkushina (UKR). Erik Lesser came 16 seconds ahead of the others to their final shooting but missed the lead with one penalty. Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson took the lead, after Hanna Öberg had put her team in seemingly hopeless backlog at gusty wind at the start of the competition. Second place went to the German duo in front of Norway. Artem Tyshchenko (UKR, Fischer ***) finished fourth followed by Estonia with Regina Oja and Rene Zahkna (both EST, Fischer ***) and USA with Susan Dunklee and Sean Doherty (both USA, Fischer ***).
Later in the mixed relay also gusty wind prevailed and Italy was able to celebrate a start-finish victory. Although Johannes Thingnes Bø came very close with a risky shooting, Dominik Windisch was unable to catch for him on the last lap. The local heroes from Sweden showed a balanced race, were always on the podium and were rewarded with third place. After a difficult start and a penalty by Ekaterina Yurlova-Percht (RUS, Fischer ***), her team with Svetlana Mironova, Dmitry Malyshko and Alexander Loginov (all RUS, Fischer ***) fought back to fourth place ahead of Julia Schwaiger, Katharina Innerhofer, Felix Leitner (all AUT, Fischer ***) and Dominik Landertinger (AUT, Fischer **) as well as Selina Gasparin (SUI), Lena Häcki (SUI, Fischer ***), Benjamin Weger (SUI) and Jeremy Finello (SUI).
