In the final, there were exceptionally seven women because Sophie Caldwell (USA) and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (NOR) crossed the finish line absolutely simultaneously in the battle for second place. After a long wait through extensive analysis of the finish photo, they finally learned that not only one of them, but both are allowed to start in the final. Maiken Caspersen Falla (NOR, Fischer ***), who struggled throughout the day, had to start from the second row as the second lucky loser. As expected, Swedens Jonna Sundling and Linn Svahn set the pace in the lead again, followed by sprint leader Anamarija Lampic (SLO, Fischer ***), who didn't look so good today after missing out on the sprint of the Slovenian championships because of back pain last weekend. With an attack on the bridge, Natalia Nepryaeva moved into second place before the last corner, so that the three athletes went side by side into the final sprint. On the slightly rising home stretch, 20-year-old Linn Svahn proved to be the strongest and celebrated her third World Cup victory - the first in a classic sprint after fifth place in Oberstdorf. "This is fantastic. I really wanted to win. In the last few meters I did it. During the heat I was a bit behind Jonna, but I'm happy that I won here at home," said the Östersund woman about her first success on Swedish soil. Natalia Nepryaeva was unable to wrest the third win of the season from the young Swede and to win the second classic sprint in a row herself, but was still second ahead of Jonna Sundling. Anamarija Lampic had to be satisfied with fourth place ahead of Maiken Caspersen Falla. Heidi Weng (NOR, Fischer ***) and Therese Johaug (NOR, Fischer ***) practiced sprints in Falun for the Ski Tour and finished eighth and tenth.
In the men's final, Norway was the majority with three athletes, after Johan Häggström (SWE, Fischer ***), who was very dominant earlier, had to strike the sails in the semi-finals. Skating specialist Federico Pellegrino (ITA) and above all Alexander Bolshunov (RUS) tried to prevent the Norwegian triple victory even in the absence of the injured Johannes Høsflot Klæbo (NOR, Fischer ***). The Russian set the pace from the start, as he had done in the heats before. Pellegrino initially held the second position, but shortly before the end of the second climb Erik Valnes moved into second place. In the stadium, Pål Golberg took the lead from Bolshunov and was no longer catchable on the home stretch. Erik Valnes finished second ahead of the Russian.
