Denise Herrmann is sprint runner-up in Oberhof

In thick fog, rain and relatively fair wind conditions Denise Herrmann (GER, Fischer ***) came back to her old shape. In the sprint in Oberhof (GER) she took second place.

The perfect first shooting was the basis for Denise Herrmann's second place. The 31-year-old was also the fastest skier, so that she only left a lot of time at the shooting range, so that she had to leave first place to Marte Olsbu Røiseland (NOR). Nevertheless, the former cross-country skier was very satisfied after the poor team performance at the end of 2019: "It is nice to open the new year like this. It is not a matter of course, this is tough business, we have noticed that lately. In shooting during the competition I have noticed that the wind was out and so I was glad that I then correctly assessed the wind. A clean prone shooting is always very important." Tiril Eckhoff (NOR, Fischer ***) finished fifth ahead of Paulina Fialkova (SVK, Fischer ***). Seventh place went to Emma Lunder (CAN, Fischer **) followed by Monika Hojnisz Starega (POL, Fischer **) and Kamila Zuk (POL, Fischer ***). Katharina Innerhofer (AUT, Fischer ***) finished tenth.
