Bø-brothers and Kuzmina triumph in the Ruhpolding sprint

Johannes Thingnes Bø and his brother Tarjei (both NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) celebrated a double victory in the sprint race in Ruhpolding (GER). Anastasiya Kuzmina (SVK, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) triumphed in the ladies sprint, Hanna Öberg (SWE, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) came in third.

Johannes and Tarjei Bø were in a class of their own and won the day. For a long time, everything looked like a victory for the older Bø brother Tarjei, who, with an early start number, presented a time when the others found a hard nut to crack. But then came his fast brother Johannes with the highest number of favorites and rolled up the field from behind. Tarjei had better cards after a shooting mistake in Johannes' standing stage, but with a strong final lap, Johannes made it all clear: "I heard during the race that it was very tight and I was behind Tarjei. So I did not think he could be beaten today." Alexander Loginov (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and boots), the sprint winner of Oberhof, finished fifth this time after a penalty. Johannes Kühn (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) came in seventh.

Anastasiya Kuzmina was clearly the strongest athlete in the women's sprint. With the fastest time and perfect shooting, also the double winner of Oberhof, Lisa Vittozzi (ITA), was not able to beat her. In the finish, she confirmed once again that she will hang up her rifle in March: "I'm so happy with 2x0, that's not normal for me. It's perfect conditions, no wind and great tracks: My shape is still not perfect, that's how it feels to me. After the season, I'm going to end my career. I'm old and have two kids, so it's a bonus to keep going after the Olympics because the form is good. " Hanna Öberg was happy about another podium finish. Justine Braisaz (FRA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) finished seventh, ninth went to Laura Dahlmeier (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) followed by Franziska Preuß (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).
