It was another triumphal procession for Anastasiya Kuzmina before her upcoming retirement. The Slovakian started with just under a penalty lead and hit all targets surprisingly for herself, so she expanded her lead to 1:40 minutes, although she could reduce the pace at the end a bit. However, before the last shot she had to wait and take a deep breath, before she also his this target and she cheered loudly. "This is the first time I've shot 4x0, I enjoyed the race, I'm really happy about this race", she said happily. Although she had to go into the penalty twice, fast Denise Herrmann was the first pursuer of the dominating Kuzmina in the second half of the race. Hanna Öberg finished third. Fifth went to Linn Persson (SWE, Fischer skis and bindings) followed by Tiril Eckhoff (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Franziska Preuß (GER, Fischerskis, bindings and boots). Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) came in eighth. Celia Aymonier (FRA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) became tenth.
Johannes Thingnes Bø also had almost a minute ahead of a chasing trio before the second shooting when he had to go into the penalty loop twice and his lead melted down to 16 seconds. For the next few laps, he opted for a slightly cautious pace to get more hits. In the fourth shooting he had to go into the penalty loop again, but his brother Tarjei Bø also missed a target, who was now his only pursuer. With the Norwegian flag Johannes skied across the finish line and waited there for his brother, who finished second. After finishing in tenth place in the sprint, Felix Leitner (AUT, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) again achieved his best career result in fourth place, even though he lost the podium to Arnd Peiffer (GER) after a joint final round.
