Denise Herrmann and Quentin Fillon Maillet win pursuit races

Denise Herrmann (GER, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) and Quentin Filon Maillet (FRA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) are the winners of the pursuit races in Soldier Hollow (USA). Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) became third.

With only two penalties Denise Herrmann worked her way up from seven to one and celebrated her third World Cup victory - ahead of compatriot Franziska Hildebrand (GER). "The clean prone shootings were the basis. I really wanted to show in my prone stages what I always do in training. I took a lot of time and certainly lost a few seconds, but the zero was the basis. I tried to focus from shooting to shooting and tried to ski relaxter due to the altitude. But on the last lap I saw that I was getting closer and closer to Hildi and we rocked that today", said Denise Herrmann, who passed her teammate in the last corner before the stadium. Kaisa Mäkäräinen was happy about her third place. Anastasiya Kuzmina (SVK, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) again had too many misses, so that she did not quite reach the podium despite strong skiing performance. Monika Hojnisz (POL, Fischer skis and bindings) finished seventh ahead of her young team-mate Kamila Zuk (POL, Fischer skis, bindings and boots). Rank nine went to Veronika Vitkova (CZE, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) followed by Celia Aymonier (FRA, Fischer skis, bindings and boots).

A few hours later, Quentin Fillon Maillet's second World Cup victory followed. The Frenchman, who almost always makes a podium in pursuits and mass starts, had to wait a long time for his first victory - until the mass start in Anterselva a few weeks ago. Now, after a short while, he made the next victory and is one of the absolute favorites at the World Championships. In today's race, he was able to succeed against sprint winner Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen (NOR) thanks to faultless shooting performance. After the last shooting he skied such a high speed that the Norwegian could not follow him anymore - the finish line he crossed backwards. Johannes Thingnes Bø (NOR, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) had a lot of problems with his standing shootings in now strong and rotating wind and after a total of five penalties he did not get past fourth place. Alexander Loginov (RUS, Fischer skis, bindings and boots) improved from 28 to seven with three shooting errors.
