Justine Braisaz-Bouchet: What are you waiting for!


Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, one of the most exciting names in the Biathlon World Cup, took her time for a speed interview. Known for her powerful skiing, Justine has been finishing in the top ten this season and is fighting for a podium this weekend at her home World Cup in Le Grand Bornand. Beyond her athletic achievements, she’s also navigating life as a mother while competing at the highest level—a true testament to her determination and passion for the sport.

How did you start with biathlon?
I was 14, in high school. It was a normal process when you did cross country skiing.
What are the top 3 things we should know about you?
I am generally too lax in many areas, with a sense of justice - but I am a sore loser.

What is your motto?
What are your waiting for!

What was your most emotional moment in your ski career?
Nove Mesto Mass-start in 2024, after becoming a mum.

What is your favorite competition location?
Anterselva and Oslo.

How would a perfect day off look like for you?
Get up at 6 am. Coffee with good fellow or on my own. Outdoor activities - golf, tennis, stroll, or whatever. Good restaurant, preferably a small one with view. Relaxing time with sunglasses and a book before cooking dinner while drinking glasses of wine. Nice people, nice time.
How does it work to combine being a mom with being a top athlete?
Thanks to my family, especially my husband. I can’t imagine to do that without them.
