Sturla Holm Lægreid: Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast!
Whether he’s chasing medals on snow or chasing thoughts about the universe, Norwegian Sturla Holm Lægreid is always on the move. With skis on his feet, a guitar in his hands, and a curious mind, the new member of the Fischer Race Family brings both brains and brawn to the biathlon world. In this interview, Sturla talks about his journey into sport, his favorite workouts, and what makes a day off truly perfect.

When and how did you start with biathlon?
I started when I was 10 years old. I had a friend who got me to try it and I loved it! But I was also doing lots of different sports like football, Taekwondo and bandy, and it wasn’t until I was 16 that I chose to only go for biathlon.

What are the top 3 things we should know about you?
I play guitar, I like woodworking, and I dream about the mysteries of the Universe!
What was your most emotional moment in your biathlon career?
I think it was when I finally got to lift the trophy as the 24I25 Total Score Winner. Truly a dream came true!

What is your favorite motto?
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

What is your biggest goal for next season?
